Permission to Use Images
I am frequently requested for permission to use my images, and my images are also frequently used without my permission. Here is a new system that I will try for a while.
- All images of FISH on this website may be used for display on websites, auction skins, forums or other web-based displays, so long as:
- the watermark is not removed
- a link to tedsfishroom.com is provided in a link section of the website (if applicable)
- NO images of people or their fishrooms or fish houses may be used without prior permission.
- NO images of the facilities of public aquariums, zoos or other institutions may be used without prior permission.
- NO images of events may be used without prior permission.
2 - 4 above are very important to protect the privacy and trademark of people and institutions. I have the images displayed with permission. if the images were to be used on other sites without permission, I would have to take them off of this site.
The images may be copied directly from the galleries using the ‘copy image’ function on your computer. Please do NOT use a link to an image on my website, because it will increase my bandwidth usage everytime someone opens the image on your web page, forum post or auction. The images are all sized to 640×480 and are set at a resolution that is viewable on a computer screen. The resolution is too low for paper printing. See below for images to be printed.
Image Use Donations
If you are using a lot of the photography from this website to promote your website or auctions, please consider that my collection of images and maintenance of this website have costs associated with them. Please consider supporting this resource by donating some money to my PayPal account: mesquito_ted@yahoo.com . I think that a $20 - $30 per year donation is reasonable for the service or providing unlimited use of my fish images for your web site or auctions. I am not going to police the usage of fish images, nor try to keep up with who is or is not making donations.
High Resolution Print Quality Images
High resolution images are available for print applications. Please contat me at tjudy@tedsfishroom.com to discuss prices and usage limitations. In general, magazine and book publishers have a rate that they pay and I will usually be able to accomodate them. Images for aquarium clubs and societies or educational purposes are usually provided for free. Business usage (store signage, catalogs, labels, business cards, calendars, etc…) requests are handled on a case by case basis.
